TELLURIDE, Colo., March 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Jagged Edge Mountain Gear
(OTC Bulletin Board: JEMG), wholesaler and retailer of technical and
fashion outerwear, boasts substantial increases in wholesale and mail
order sales thanks to the introduction of a summer catalog and outdoor
specialty department store chain REI.
Jagged Edge's first summer catalog will debut April 1, 1999 with a test
run of 50,000. Previously, the company has offered only winter wear.
With a favorable response to the initial mailing, Jagged Edge will
release an additional 50,000 catalogs. Introducing a summer catalog
will not only increase brand name recognition and sales, but also round
out Jagged Edge's seasonal cash flow -- mail orders tend to come during
the off seasons of the five Jagged Edge resort-town retail stores.
REI previously carried Jagged Edge in 24 locations but has stepped up
their order to carry JEMG in all 54 of the company's retail stores.
Such a commitment by REI demonstrates Jagged Edge's growing acceptance
by the biggest names in the outerwear industry. REI has a reputation in
the outdoor industry for making small companies into big companies.
