Jim, Re: "One more thing, how can an analyst really believe Intel will come in with revenues 3% shy of qtr 4? why not 2%, why not 4%, I mean really now, do they have a clue at Intel's investment profits as well as a zillion other things going on inside Intel. Intel already said flat to down a bit."
Good point about a company with so many products and investments...hard to call. Also, is Intel much into consulting and services, like IBM, I wonder? Those are really hard to call wrt revenues and profits. Having said that, don't forget that Dan Niles of Robertson Stephens nailed Dell's slightly under revenues last quarter. I bet he got some pretty bad threats from the Dellheads before the actuals came out, but he was right on. Dell may not have as many products going as Intel to add up, but their service is probably more significant.
Anyway, Intel has been steadfast in saying revs would be seasonally lower this Q.
On another front, I like what Osha, the new chip guru at ML came out with re Intel. Finally, a guy that makes sense from that company (on chips).
