I agree that Monsanto could've handled the PR better. But, by the same token, who could've predicted this kind of mass hysteria over something as beneficial, at least innocuous, as GM foods. It appears to be something unique to British culture. Certainly, there are GM critics in this country. But, what's going on in Britain has not transferred over the Atlantic and I predict it won't. What Monsanto has to do is work with British scientists and health officials and begin a concerted effort to reassure the British public that their fears are groundless. Like "cabbage patch kids" and "Tickle me Elmo" These mass hysteria things eventually burn themselves out.
