I agree with your comments about CSCO's roll-up strategy. It will be interesting to see if its hollowness (technical and personnel) is revealed or if a $500B market opportunity will cover all mistakes. Chambers disingenuous and propagandistic comments really grate. In a 4/99 Wired cover story, Chambers points out that there is a $500B data networking market opportunity in the rush to the Web and data subsuming voice. If true, how can he say LU's $20B stock purchase of ASND is overvalued? Won't ASND pay for itself in a few years? I think LU/ASND and CSCO are perfectly positioned to capitalize on the infrastructure build-out. I just really dislike the way Chambers feels he has to slander his true competitors in order to do it. What an ass. I posted the article and my comments on the CSCO thread. Typical BS responses ("What's your ax to grind?") without substance. Greed blinding critical analysis.
