Steady Growth for the Digital Video-Disc Players

CHINA, March 19, AsiaPort -- The explosive growth of the market of
digital video-disc player won't appear again from 1999 to 2001. The
annual demand is between 12 and 15 million with an annual growth of
about 10 percent. It's estimated that the sales volume of VCD will be
less than that of super VCD. The key markets of VCD will transfer to
small cities, towns and villages. It will quit from the market in
around 2001. 1999 will be a boom year for super VCD with a sales volume
of 8-10 million sets. By 2001 its market share will equal that of DVD.
