Townsville builders strike SYDNEY, Australia, March 19 (Reuters) -- Construction work on a zinc refinery being built by Korea Zinc Co. Ltd. at the Queensland coastal city of Townsville has been affected by a labor strike. An employee of Korea Zinc's Sun Metals Corp. Proprietary Ltd. subsidiary, Townsville, who declined to give her name, said construction work on the smelter had ground to a halt in the last several weeks. The smelter is designed to produce 170,000 tonnes of refined zinc annually. Executives of Korea Zinc were unavailable for comment, and it was unclear whether construction of the refinery would be completed by the end of 1999 as scheduled.
