ROSS Stores announces departure of VP and controller in late March. See below! I bet he has NICE stock package! Great job John Vuko! He is moving on to a senior VP and controller's job. The bucks just keep on rolling in for John!

Anyway, ROSS Stores (ROST) closed down 15/16 at 44 9/16 with 90,100 shares trading hands. At one point I had a chance to monitor the markets at work and the stock was down 1 1/2. So, I'm pleased with the resistance to the volatility and the fact that ROSS Stores is losing an important VP! Temporary loss and I'm sure they will replace John with another strong business person.

Volatility Index (VIX) closed up +.710 at 21.21 and at one point reached 23. Needless to say, today was a rock n roll day for the big board. Typical of early week shakeouts before the options expiration date for this Friday. The 10-Year T-Bill interest rate went down -.130 today to close at 6.26% which was about the interest rate of one year ago around Feb. 1996. That's a very good sign that we may have a repeat Dow performance in 1997.
