The travel industry is undergoing a lot of consolidation, changes in commission price structure, and encroachment by the airline carriers. The major carriers intend to sell more direct via the Internet, cutting out the middle-men. But one-stop-shopping and the flexibility and innovations that a "travel company" can bring to the customer should be significant. I agree that there will likely be a handful of winners in this category. The market is huge and the opportunities for growth and innovation are enticing - but the road to market leadership won't be a bed of roses.
