Here's something from John Dorfman. I hope he isn't related to Dan Dorfman.... quote.bloomberg.com I'm intrigued by hard disk drive companies in general and by Maxtor Corp. in particular. Maxtor is selling for 10 times recent earnings, and is down to below $9 from a high of $21.25 in January. People are concerned about a slowdown in personal- computer sales, but it seems to me that such panics occur periodically. Maxtor appears to be gaining market share from competitors (such as Quantum Corp. and Seagate Technology Inc.), thanks partly to its introduction of some powerful new disk drives.
