Kenya,
I think it is worse for Dell. It indicates they have to give in to a
market they indicated they would not get involved in. That means that
they are concerned about sales/rev.. CPQ, HP,E-machines, and even IBM
have been in the low end market for awhile and have a good presence.
This may be a small point but I know some economy conscious people
who will go to the store rather than pay shipping costs. Did Dell
include the lower margin systems in their estimates? Not good for
anyone.
