Very interesting tidbit: The 1/2 billion ton Los Bronces Copper mine is located 69 Km North of Santiago or about 40 miles due East of Lipangue just on the other side of the valley between the coastal range and the Andes. The Los Bronces and the smaller EL Soldado mine and a smelter are 100% owned by Exxon-Coal and Minerals Division. Exxon has plans to expand its operations in Chile..........:)
