The Serbs have as much resolve in practice as your average East LA street gang. They are stupid thugs, no more and no less, much more adept at shooting unarmed civilians than anyone who shoots back.

They are, however, very good at planting the myth of the ten-foot tall Serb warrior who will vanquish all occupiers. This character exists largely in their fevered imaginations.

For the record, Serbs have not inflicted a single casualty on NATO forces since they arrived in Bosnia in 1996. However, a gang of Serbs who went after some US soldiers with clubs not long ago had their numbers reduced by one - permanently. They are also missing a few war criminals who decided to skip their chance at due process.
