3000...? I just can't see it... Me neither; at least, it seems highly unlikely. But I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see 7,000 some time in the next 12 months. And only mildly surprised to see 5,500. btw, I have quite a bit of cash on the sidelines right now, waiting for lower prices. So my own portfolio supports your contention that investors will jump in on a downturn and thereby limit its size. Individual investorshave developed a firm faith that downturns are always short-lived, and represent a buying opportunity. If something happens to shake that faith, look out below.
