Turns out Michael Dell's father and Jerry Sanders found out they are old college fraternity brothers, and Dell senior owed Sanders a favor after Sanders saved his bacon when a frat party prank almost got him kicked out of school. So, Dell Sr. told Michael he needed a favor and the rest is history.
