..then again, that's just what AMD is trying to do. Have you seen chiptech.com yet? You should like it -- it quotes you -- and it shows why K7 as currently envisioned has to attack the medium-high end server space, and why if (big if..) AMD can come through on its promises within its timetable, it has a shot, at least at crimping Intel's Xeon margins. Merced is late; if K7 is not, they will be able to save customers money on an (ostensibly) better, faster SMP box. Wonder if it's on time..
