John 3:36 "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." Men put their own thoughts and conditions upon God in their vanity as though He should bow to the will of their preconceived notions of His nature or according to their idea of righteousness. The Creator is not subservient to the creation nor bound by what we expect of Him. When Jesus gave His life for us He did so freely because of His love for us, a love that knew no bounds... There are those by doctrine that would portray Jesus as a victim again imposing their notions upon God. But God's word says in John 10.... 14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. 15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. 18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. Praise God that the cross is empty! For we serve a risen Saviour!
