MW yes this was started on the yahoo thread this morning and i do
believe it will work. all of the longs are calling in their stock
certificates or putting their omkt shares in a cash account thereby
eliminating the shorts ability to borrow the shares and short
omkt.
i would hope all the longs on this board will do the same this was
posted on the yahoo thread which might explain it better than i can

Calling in shares means asking your broker to send you your physical share
certificates.

If your broker doesn't have possession of your share certs, they cannot lend those
shares for shorting, thus decreasing the pool of shares "available for shorting".

If several large shareholders do so, they can force shorts to cover because the
broker will then call in their short positions. A coordinated effort by numerous
small investors can have the same effect (yo man, this is about empowerment!).

This is one of the unspoken risks of shorting: you may be called in at any time.

one poster at yahoo est. over 50000 shares have been made unavailable
to short and that was less than 6 hours. so no matter how many shares
you own they all had up. and yes we can make a difference. if you have any questions i will try to answer or will find out.
