TomK. I liked your idea about selling puts.

BUT....if you haven't done it....I'd advise you to take a look sometime at Ken Trester's videotape on options. He's a McMillan type guru....writes great books.

but he describes what happens to some put-sellers in 1987...with some real numbers......it's pretty scary......People who were short puts.....big numbers of puts.....saw the market crashing...and tried all day to call their brokers to buy the puts back....losing millions in the process.

I, too, like the put-selling scenario, but I still have a bit of a day job....and don't carry a beeper. I've had one case when a put I had which was near the money.......got trashed in a 10% slide of the stock in about 2 hours......protective puts are pretty expensive too, if one thinks a bull put spread can protect you
