Nah, the grinder was not a problem at all. It was the line. Alex solved it. It'll work. Only problem now is my ex-wife tossed the fenders about 4 years ago. Maybe I can find some more.
I like to think of stuff that nobody thought of before. When I think of stuff, I have to check and make sure that nobody already did it.
I had another idea yesterday. Have 'em all the time. This one was pretty cool. I was goofing around with Luke's bike, changing a tire, and I was reminded of these bikes that the kids in LA make, the custom lowrider bikes. Ever seen one? Gold plated, custom frames, etc. They are awesome. Kids make 'em so they can learn how to do custom car stuff. Here are a couple of pictures.

Now, you'll notice that these bikes have a certain 'Style', they are all pretty similar to each other in many respects.
One thing these kids do is build their own wheels. You add spokes to a regular wheel to get a whole bunch of spokes.
My idea was to use spring steel (which does not bend after you bend it the first time) to make some spokes to add to a wheel. These spokes, however, would not be straight. They would not serve a functional purpose. For example, you could make 50 spokes in the shape of a lightning bolt, and add them to the wheel (which already has the functional spokes). Then make the frame of the bike that same shape, following the same 'lightning bolt' shape, and you would have a really bitchin' custom bike. You could make all sorts of shapes with the spokes; all kinds of themes for a really cool custom bike.
I had to check and see if anybody thought of it already. They didn't. So you watch, somebody will,
but I thought of it first. |
