Yes, it's kinda a dividing line issue on so many of our core beliefs, isn't it?

Penni, my heart bleeds too for so many of those lost children without responsible parents. But you know, I think often-times we create programs like Sex education which actually exacerbate the problems they face. I also agree with you that we should take steps which do not take into account religious affiliation. I only used that as an example of the hypocrisy of Christine's argument.

What common sense steps can we take to deal with this problem?
First, we have to begin by bringing shame back to being a teenager and pregnant. We don't have to be cruel about it. What's the matter with posters around the school which show the realities of getting pregnant. Now it's almost sheek to be pregnant. Bring in an articulant Welfare mother and let her tell her story to the student body.

The terms right and wrong behavior should be emphasized by parents teachers, and school boards. It's wrong to get pregnant and have sex before you are married. Why are we as a society afraid to say that! If we spoke more as one voice maybe we could effect change.
To many people like Christine, believe that "if it feels good do it" has no consequences.

Too many people believe teenagers are like dogs that can't control their sexual urges. With proper caring, nuturing and guidance they clearly can.

And by the way, can't we do something about those stupid soap opera's kids start watching very young. Talk about polluting the atmosphere for young adults! It's not the all my children we used to watch! Hollywood bears a DIRECT responsibilty.
