The South China Morning Post is reporting that mainland China will adopt Qualcomm's CDMA 2000. Early word is that mainland China has turned its back on GSM and is going to announce that CDMA 2000 is its preferred standard. If true, it would be a major blow to Euro equipment suppliers like Ericsson that had been pushing W-CDMA. An official announcement is expected next month during Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji's trip to Washington. P. groksoup.com
