It would be quaint to be believe there is private enterprise and personal liberyt, but the reality of it is that we are governed by a set of laws and taxes that coerce us to behave accordingly. When Texaco or Chrysler goes to the Government with their hand out or the small business man is given deductions for the use of his car or truck(s) for business purposes or the real estate owner who is subsidized for a second or third home or a multi-million dollar home, one can see that the system is designed for certain individuals or business objectives. When the incentives are not in our interests it is considered government meddling and neglected otherwise. In short, we speak out of both sides of our mouth.
