Ken, what's the best man-portable alternative to storing gobs of water?? Look at katadyn.net Also, while we're talking major problems should NYC and other metropolitan areas not be prepared to pump and treat water, there is portable reverse-osmosis filtration devices available both from military and civilian sources. And in a pinch, there's always iodine tablets that kill just anything alive in muddy water. I believe in having some amount of water storage capacity, but I believe more strongly in possessing the means to filter water whereever I'm at. Besides, it give me more room to stash necessities like cigarettes and the liquor stock... <VBG>. Regards, Ron
