Howdy Blue, just finished double-checking through the proxies and never did get my GNET! So you got yours late; well that's what happens when the stock isn't held on paper. The best thing about certs is: all offers, communications, pr news, letters to shareholders, sometimes coupons and gifts, and especially proxy votes and invitations, come to the mailbox reliably and directly from Co. or transfer agent. GNET probably won't be the only one missing either.
I'll call that 800 number or Headquarters Monday and maybe they'll tell me the issues and take my vote; online would need a registration number. They or broker can send the statement and yearly report special; this is annoying and it's always that way with shares at broker - even the best of them (like mine) never send everything the investor would be if shares held in certs or div. reinvestment or share registry at Co. Maybe time to get some GNET in a cert.
Would especially like to see Russell Horowitz's statement and background; further proof that he has the class and business savvy already demonstrated by Go2net's smooth growth/progress and the blue-chip behavior in the way it trades shows it's a Top Drawer Act.
Tempted to tell Jeeves to fill up the jet, too, but can't get to the meeting by Monday - maybe next year.
Been doing my homework today, looking at all news on pets and writing down important points. Of interest so far - ABT (gearing up for some big acquisition maybe), AIT (fiber-optic cable tv net access in Detroit, SBC merger soon to go through), ATI (bought by Britain's Vodafone "One If By Land, Two If By Sea" so time to skeet-shoot it "Pull!!" for a 909 plus),
BEL (GTE merger mostly approved, coming soon), BLS (IE 5 on bellsouth.net IAP browser), CDNWD (merger with NTKI complete; CDnow.com and MusicBoulevard.com will soon be combined into one mega-site and already on Yhoo, Xcit, & wanting all, etc.), CNXT(Raised to a BUY by Bigs, it's ROK Semiconductor spinoff, many broadband/cable alliances here), DLJ (will be issuing a tracking stock of internet brokerage and it's up 15% already for me in a short time).....
this is as far as I got, so if there's any more items of interest I'll let you know.
Jed, who are you talking to?! Knock, Knock, it's ME, I was THERE!
It wasn't only thanks to GNET that you look smart, and that wasn't your only rocketing Before-The-Market (LOL) Stock Pick on that busy board of former legend.
Heck, you've you've forgotten more about business, stocks, & nets than many WS pros know, and you figure it out yourself, too. Pal,
you're modest, as are all folks of true talent. Mr. O'Hara is, too.
More 909ers please,
Joanie
