Could somebody help me? I have a problem using chat to work with my modem.

I just install red hat Linux and my minicom works find but my chat will not talk to my modem. I don't even get a OK when it sends the AT command to it. My modem happens to be on Com 3 so I would think there is a file or something to make chat look at com three which I think it's looking at com 1. The Man command for chat is useless for modem setup and the how to's is just as bad.

Also is there a reason when I log in to the ISP with minicom the server disconnects me about 10 seconds later?

Thanks
Mike
