John,

If you have Win98 will the download of IE 5 intergrate itself into the file structure of Win 98 or does it down load as a separate executable program?

I don't believe that Windows has a very clear distinction between the browser and the OS. Win 98 also seems to use the browser as the interface to the file system. My guess is that the install process writes numerous new .exe and .dll files, and changes the Registry to point to the new programs.

I have been quite pleased so far. The performance is great, and it is at least as stable as IE 4.0. It comes with an IE 5.0 uninstall program, in case you don't like it.
