Wayne, just be glad EBID was on the Hot List for a few days, probably got some extra attention. SI is inconsistent about what can and cannot make the hotlist, all BB stocks, regardless of price, are not allowed to be on the hotlist - don't ask me why.
This kinda adds to the "hidden" quality of the stock don't you think? Some people will have seen it on the hot list, then can't find it anymore, and the next time they hear about it EBID is being mentioned in Barron's (ala MLRE) for running from $2 to $27 in four days:)
Thanks for posting the employee list "Can Do", looks good. Larry mentioned to me that he has a couple more contacts that he'll bring in after the financing is complete.
The hot list isn't was moves stocks, its the story, and EBID has a good one. I suspect several lurkers who don't own the stock have been sitting on their hands this weekend just waiting to get a shot at getting in on Monday, hoping that nobody else hears about EBID this weekend. Too late - I've already told a couple folks - and in their interest I will not post anything about EBID on any other threads until after the weekend.
I also checked out all the SI posts on EBID when it was still IACV, and this one was even quiter than I thought. Cookie Monster was the only person on SI to post on IACV before the name change on 3/18/99, he made posts on the 11, 13, 15, and 17th I believe, and he never got one response - even though IACV ran up over 100% in the week prior to the change to EBID - and on low volume too! You are one sharp cookie, Monster. Here's one of his innocent posts before the storm, too bad we all didn't listen then:

My guess is the rest of the runup could have been insiders, or loyal Canadian followers who got the news through non-traditional sources.
There is some guy on Yahoo! named Watcher31 who also picked up on EBID early, anyone here know who that is? He picks up on all kinds of reverse takeover BB issues, and has had a decent record, some big hits and some big misses. I'm just wondering how I could have gotten in on EBID even EARLIER than I have already. Here's the link to the Watcher31 thread and post re: EBID:

I guess I wouldn't be too surprised if this guy was over here on SI too, anyone see any similarities? He announces his picks in anticipation of a runup (ala Tokyo Mex), that's seems to be the latest trend with alot of well known SI pickers lately (ala Whiz Kid), here is his first post from 3/18/99:

BTW, I did a search of the Yahoo! message boards and found no posts on IACV or EBID - although their search capabilites are typically for messages that were posted at least a week or so ago it seems. |
