I like it; makes a lot of sense. And accounts for the extreme and rapid fall of CPQ like no other info does. The merger would give the new CPQ/DEC/Tandem conglomerate a run for the same set of biz activities (servers, enterprise, and PC boxes.) Very, very competitive entity would result from such a merger. Would Dell's world wide biz improve with this relationship? Probably... IBM is likely to be everywhere that CPQ is, plus. Has Dell moved into the sub $1000 range? yep.

I wonder if the major money is "reacting" AS IF this is true, regardless of actuality?
