Perhaps the words "unprofitable" is not accurate as you would suggest. It really depends on your estimation of the accounting procedures employed, and the credibility of those employing them. (Alan Rosenquist has a good reputation and a professional designation which calls him to accountability. He has left the firm and has been absent for quite some time. Who replaced him?) The capitalization of R&D can hardly be considered conservative. The modest "profit" indicated for the latest quarters on modest revenue could possibly lead one to conclude that the company is "profitable", though I think that may be a stretch. The passage of time will bring to light all the things that are hidden in the dark, and as investors we really do not have the luxury of employing this to our advantage. We are put up on by the menace of market forces, to try to unearth the hidden realities far in advance of our competitors in the investing public. Requesting for something to "chew on" from company news releases, and citing the meagre positions some penny stock mining promoter as a "vote of
confidence" is an insult to intelligence. My point now clarified, I truly wish Unitec and all those participating investors a successful year in 1999 and beyond. ( I still own a block of stock options myself).
