SirVinny,
Hi!!!

RE: Unfortunately, I've tried to explain it to Stock Bull but he says he just doesn't get it. Would you be so kind to explain the likelihood and the logic behind DELL assembling IBM PCs or takeover IBMs side of PC business altogether.

Whooooah...that would take hours...do I think this could happen? Yes....do I know I've heard IBM rumors up here of this?? Sure....do I think DELL will do this?? If Michael and management want this??...I'm for it!!!
Yes....it is a nice match...and the logic is a long explanation...IBM is not winning that war....Let me remind you that IBM lost the original bid for the high school (John Jay...East Fishkill) that literally sits between some of the IBM centers...we wrestle JJay every year ...got this story from them over there...well, it seems that DELL won the contract with the school....and then IBM was so infuriated they asked the BOE (board of Ed.) to rescind the contract and allow them to have it for less than the DELL bid....John Jay said "ok" to this and told IBM to go ahead with the order....you'd think this would be the end of the embarrassment..but, it just gets a bit better....Gerry Fry (DELL K-12 NYState head) visited our high school since we just got all DELL's this fall....I was visiting with him and during the conversation told him of this story...I finished or so I thought I had when he said let me make a phone call...well, he called his office to confirm this: IBM was so delayed in getting the contract filled that John Jay called DELL and told them they were canceling the IBM contract and IBM was once again out....
Hard to believe??? Not if you've done your homework and read this thread...

BE DIRECT....ELIMINATE OBSTACLES.....

:O)

Best, Kemble
