First of hopefully several little tidbits: Quadrex Corporation 1901 N.W. 67th Place Gainesville, FL 32606 (904) 378-9711 (There is also an office in St. Louis, Missouri) Exchange: OTC Sector:Ticker: QUAD Industry: Capital Goods : Construction Services Business Summary: Quadrex Corporation, through several subsidiaries; produces, markets and sells ethanol for motor fuel use. QUAD also licenses the technology and provides engineering and technical services. For the three months ended 3/31/94, revenues decreased from $217K to $0. Net loss from continuing ops. increased 2% to $1.6M. Results were negatively impacted by the absence of licensing revenues, and higher research and development expenses. I have found some financials and it even though things look sad they are a little bigger than I thought (in Florida as well) and have done some pretty good business in the past. What I'm hoping for is one of several good things that could happen. There is always the possibility that they are going to shut down too, but something just clicked today. I was recently in Atchison, Kansas talking to the locals about a company there called Midwest Grain. They produce ethanol and other products from grain and things have been pretty tough not because demand is low but because of the high and going higher wheat prices. Ethanol is not only used in gasohol but is also a key ingredient in many other industrial products. If QUAD has the technology and experience to make it from byproducts there could be some renewed interest in their expertise. Just remember, this is purely speculative, the stuff could go to 0.001 by the end of the week. The increase in volume says nothing at this time, it could be people getting in OR out!
