Rande has posted many posts of the dangers .. watch out for caps and hyope statements. Look for solid DD such as TA (technical analysis or transfer agent depending on the useage) or FA (Fundamental Analysis)... First thing I do is look at the TA for a front loading scenario or large accumulation of stock vs the price. Now if MAKO for example had a high volume and price increase I would be reluctant and if I got in I would really have to dig deep. Also get to know posters ... Those that twist information, emotional, hype statements, etc. I do look for solid DDers and try to foillow their posts somewhat but do not invest on those posts.

If I am ok with the trading log and feel interest is about to come about then I will continue my DD. I look at the DD posted to see if it is verifiable and valid. IS it something that the real financial world will want or is it internet only. Now internet does not care about the financial strenght just the movement. Remember most of the time day traders bring interest to a stock that would have taken a great deal of promotion. SO see if you can determine quickly if it is a group of investors on the internet or is it coming from the real world. Also the real world is not like the internet, they do not just rush in, they take their time and buy slowly ...

Just have to set discipline and most of all learn to read trading logs. EX: ICUT though a momentum had 10 times the sells than buys, however, the ask ut. Also beware of all buys and the price downticks.

Hope this helps as to how I personally decide what stock to DD... now MAKO I am doing DD on and it may have had some accumulation at .19 but it is only .21 so I believe it is worth it. Now it is a matter of DD which I have had the weekend to make that investment decision on two days of DD. Remember, I am NOT a finacial planner or advisor just a moron trying to learn the stock market.
