Bill,

That moon stuff seems to work, but when you go back and use historical data, it's not all that accurate, especially for the Dow.

A moon trader might argue that you need to be more flexible on buying and selling (i.e. within a few days +/- of a full moon or a new moon), considering that the moon goes through a cycle every fifteen or so days -- well, that's way too much slack for me to consider it a viable general trading system and I haven't even mentioned its shaky astrological basis.

In general, the system works like this -- buy on a full moon or right after one and sell on a new moon or a few days before. As Scotty can attest, it seems to work great on gold and a few other futures. I've traded NEM a few times successfully using it.

Full Moons:

March 2nd
March 31st

New Moons:

March 17th
April 16th
