Glenn,
All in all I share your bullish sentiment. I have been in SLOT for several years now, sometimes trimming the position, but thereafter always buying even more. I added my last piece at 34. I would have bought much more at that level, if it were not for that legislature-thing, which makes me somewhat uncomfortable; can't help it. Below you'll find a message I just put on the Yahoo board; "half-way through"; guess it reflects your thinking. Cheers! Dr John
So, after all this turmoil, pain, panic, despair, (choose one) we sit here with our good old friend/foe (choose one) Anchor Gaming, soon-to-be-renamed Anchor Technologies. I for myself feel fine and pretty relaxed -again- , if it were not for this legislature-thing concerning participation fee and mega-jackpot, which is a nuisance/calamity (choose one), at least until end of May99. Apart from that, where do we stay? Same old excellent management, same old stable and profitable casino/route. Very likely, same old outperforming gaming division, experiencing some short-term pains (growing pains? Happens to kids during a growth-spurt). Then there is the acquisition of PWRH, which is a fine company inflicting serious pain to G-Tech. With PWRH we have another casino in a low-competition area (am I correct?), and we have something for the analysts, which is "fantasy"; they love this kind of stuff my mother told me, and they have plenty of it now:: the possibility of new race-track-casinos; cash-less video-gaming-machine; AWI eating away G-Tech's lunch; International expansion (sounds always good, even in 987/8/9). SLOT did not issue any shares, took up some debt and paid cash, that is what we like; on the other hand we might not be too thrilled that PWRH is working in a rather low-margin environment, as opposed to SLOT. Taken altogether, let's wait for the inevitable upgrades, sit on our shares, see them appreciate a bit, probably buy a bit more, if they fall with the market to stupid levels (luckily some of us bought at 34), and wait for legislation thing to clear, which will probably turn out to be in favor of the equipment companies (IGT,SLOT). Dr.John
