Been going over report from CPQ and find some disturbing facts.
First,about 4 months ago I stated on this thread that there were
only 80,000 plus stockholders,I was blasted by several thread
members saying I was not taking into account stock held in brokerage
accounts.So I called IR and was told that there were over 1 million
shareholders,which I reported on this thread.Now comes page 72 in
CPQ that states as of Jan 29 1999 CPQ had approximately 89,000
shareholders,BIG TIME DIFFERENCE!
Second,Cpq said that they would repurchase 1 billion dollars
of stock back in 1999,page 60 of report states CPQ repurchased approximately 11 million shares for a cost of $384 million,only
616 million dollars short of projected plan.At $30 dollars a share
they could purchase around 20 million more shares.I see every day
people on this thread get excited about 100k share purchases.
I find it interesting .
