The right way to do a digital identity

Message 8445766

The Novell systems sets up an identity store where the user controls what information is released.

Some sharp system programmer at Intel should figure out how to use Novell's Digital ME with Intel's CPU-ID.

The first step is to prevent the CPU-ID from being readable by any program that hasn't been cleared to read it through the Digital Me identity store.

You shouldn't be able to get at the CPU-ID unless the owner of the CPU wants you to. Digital ME gives the owner/user control over the release of that information.

Is there any bright engineer at Intel that would like to see Intel get some good publicity?
