It is tempting to suggest that E-Compare and the like, will be the the death knell for staples purchased on the net. My gut says, yeah, it's going to help put the kaibash on all those efforts to build brand name recognition, as with AMZN. It really makes it easy to ignore the great name and simply buy on price. It's there on a silver platter for you.

On the other hand, every time it looks like something is going to squash a big net company/ or let the air out of the stock, the market finds a reason to bid the darn thing higher.

<ggg> All the more reason there will be a time for some serious bloodletting. Reality will eventually take hold and for those shorts who can time it properly there will be a major windfall. IMHO.

I for one will probably never shop AMZN again unless E-Compare shows them as lowest price. It's a no brainer.
