I have a Turkey cartoon from the New Yorker just for you

In this cartoon there is a fat turkey speaking to the other smaller turkeys all of whom are confined to a fenced-in area, a pen, and are staring out blankly at the world beyond the fence.

The biggest turkey says "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas." None of the other turkeys can manage a response.

The cartoon is captioned "Dream On". It usually appears in the magazine just before Thanksgiving.

I hope that isn't too deep for you but I think you should post this cartoon in your office. Perhaps you could change the caption to "I'm dreaming of a Christmas bonus."

At this point I think that Novell has exited from the "desktop operating system" marketplace. We seem to be gaining a lot of momentum towards the support of Java terminals (or PCs), but I'm not sure that corporate America is ready to accept this as the "desktop OS of choice." Because of this it appears to me that we will *have* to share the market with Microsoft. I'm writing this to you on WindowsNT connected to a NetWare network ..."

Frankly Mr. Mush I couldn't have presented the problem with Novell better. You don't have a clue do you. Surrender the desktop! You idiot, you are surrendering the Department level server! as well as all of those 3.X upgrades going to NT!

"I know that you seem to have strong feelings about this, I would greatly appreciate your input as to how to best address this market. I know that the IntraNetWare for Small Business is making some headway, but I don't agree with your premise about "non-directory enabled server market". I don't believe there is such a thing. I often state that one day people will wake up and realize that directories will impact the world far more than the world wide web. It's difficult to
teach a marketplace about something fairly radical, but directories are about to change your life in ways that you can't imagine! I would hate to invest a lot of time and money in a "non-directory enabled server" ..

Well Mr. Mush I see you don't talk to Peter Troop. The non directory enabled server market is his phrase for describing IntranetWare for Small Business, you know Kayak...a product your company sells. Here you are using NT and telling people you cannot see why anyone would use Kayak! I'm amazed. And you actually work for Novell.

PS. I tend to reserve my suggestions for people at Novell that actually know their products and can benifit from the input in some way. For you I would suggest early retirement and a book about gardening.

I no longer believe you actually work for Novell.
The company cannot employ people that are this lame.
Post your company E-mail address and title or admit you are a provacateur sent by Bill to stir up the waters.
