LindyBill, larry, and DownSouth:

Though I am in agreement with you on the short term prospects for DELL's stock over the next 3-4 months, I beg to differ on simply assuming that it will begin to trade like a box maker in the long term.

DELL's primary advantage is their awesome management team, and because of this awesome management team this company will grow and prosper outside of the pure box maker market segment. They're already planting the seeds for this growth in areas like storage equipment, and anticipate a big push from them in the networking systems arena at some point in the future

Mr. taxman and I have debated playing the DELL calls, LEAPS and other option alternatives. My best advice to him was to focus on the longer term plays as the short term ones are going to have problems. We are seeing it now. The biggest obstacle for DELL is going to be the Street, but I think in time they will win this battle as they have almost every other fight they've engaged.

Long term, DELL is a great investment.
