Peter: No need to apologise for being green. We are all learning and that is what SI and all these threads are for. I do not get RT quotes per se - they are available but will cost $$$. I do get 15 minutes delayed quotes on canadian stocks. The one I use most often is
canada-stockwatch.com
Check it out, it is reputably one of the best for overall substance and content. The delayed quotes are free. There are some paid subscription services on this website where you can get more. Try it and see if you like it - there is a free trial available - follow the prompts.

I wished I had free RT quotes but I am not a trader that needs nor can do with such services. IMHO, if you think RT quotes thru the internet is cool, wait till you see what some dedicated systems like Bloomberg gives you. I have seen one in action and nothing beats it, IMO.
I try and pick fundamentally undervalued and undiscovered stocks and so give myself some room to manoveur. I don't believe for a minute that I can outtime anything or anyone even if I have a RT quote machine.
