I think we may be getting somewhere. The success of CDMA in USA and Korea was based on the fact that no digital standard had a decent national footprint. However, as soon as CDMA started arriving in markets like China, Hong Kong and Singapore, it hit a brickwall - the lack of a good coverage *is* a problem when there is a good alternative for consumers to consider.

So what are the CDMA growth projections in Russia, Australia, etc. based on? The US and Korean subscriber growth. And which markets do these new CDMA countries actually most resemble? Singapore and China... places where GSM has a big headstart. That is why there is such disagreement on the CDMA growth in Asia, Russia, etc.
