Dear Mr. Booth:
Your recent post was both inaccurate and misleading. Please contact the administrator and have it removed.
First of all, our postings to usenet as Analyst X have allways been accurate and factual representations of stocks which my staff and I feel are ripe for outstanding gains in the near future. QDEL is our number one pick for the next 12 months.
As far as the Cyanotech Corp (CYAN) is concerned, we recommended the stock at a price of $1.45 because of strong earnings momentum and good fundamentals. As is our standard mode, all recommendations were posted under usenet with the usual disclaimers. After our announcement, CYAN rose to a price of $15.00 (which we felt was too high). The stock has since retreated to about $7.00, and is one of our recommended stocks.
Are you upset that provided people with information on a great little company and those who listened made a 500-1500% profit? I do not understand your point. We have also had our share of losers, such as CAI Wireless and USDL. But there was also Boeing (recommended at $38, now at $110), Best Buy (recommended at split adjusted $7, went to $30), and America On-Line as a short position (down 25% since then).
It seems you believe that I can influence the price of a stock in the open marketplace. How is what we do any different from brokerage firm recommendations (OOPS- I forgot THEY often underwrite the securities they tout, or are involved in other conflicts of interest.)
The whole concept of the internet and usenet is to allow the average person to have access to information once reserved only for the elite in industry. In the case of our Analyst X postings and homepage, what we are trying to do is to allow the small investor to benefit from some INDEPENDENT and NON-BROKERAGE FIRM recommendations by a group of people with some experience as both analysts and traders. We have never owned a significant portion of stock in companies we recommend, but we DO put our money where our mouths are!
All of our postings come with standard warnings to investigate before you buy anything. As I recall, the post you mention suggested readers contact the company directly through their homepage to find out more.
I hope this addresses your concerns, whatever they may be. Good luck and happy investing. |
