I think the market is creating a large buying opportunity with Citrix. I am hoping for another Tech correction and make it a larger buying opportunity.
The market generally doesn't like big acquisitions, since the bigger they are, the harder to digest.
Yeah, AOL acquiring NSCP for 9 billion and then going up 150% is tough to digest. Wrong! If it is a strategic buy, then the deal will make Citrix stronger in the long term. I think Citrix is smart by using cash as well as stock to acquire whatever they are to acquire. Instead of using just stock, they would be acting more like WCOM (one of the best acquiring companies of all time), than AOL (9 Billion for NSCP??? Nuff said!)
What would they want to buy? Is it completely ridiculous to think they might be in a deal with MSFT?
I would love to see a deal w/ MSFT, but that right now is just wishful thinking. Microsoft does not need any cash. So its highly unlikely that its with MSFT. However, Citrix is great at OS development. Maybe MSFT would buy in more, owning more than 50% of the company, (actually Citrix would pay for NT and its assets, MSFT would get more than 50% of the company along with cash ,which MSFT doesn't need) Citrix would develop the future of NT. Citrix would be a subsidary of MSFT to satisfy the DOJ. It is very doubtful it's going to happen like that, because NT is MSFT's life blood...but wouldn't it be great? It could be to just buy the TS piece of NT so that RDP would go away. Again, doubtful.
More likely, I think it could be for more video technology.
I would like to hear what other people think and opinions on what the hell Citrix could acquire.
