To All, CNBS tried to spin the lousy Feb sales story today by predicting that Dell and IBM and Compaq were all going to pull a receivables scam, though they didn't call it that. But here is the problem with that story. They had a lousy Feb last year and ran a receivables scam in March of 1998. So March may indeed be better than Feb, for the 7 dumb people who bought PIII, if for no other reason. But when you compare it to March of last year, it could still be pretty stinko. CNBS didn't cover that part of the scenario.
