Merger Completion Date?

Isn't the merger supposed to be completed in early April? If so,
why is the spread between TDFX & STBI growing? In my mind, it is
already a done deal.

As for the whole TNT2 vs. V3 controversy, it looks like the V3 may
not have the best 3D features/performance, but will definitely have
the best market coverage. The V3 2000 will be a big hit at around
$100. The V3 3000 looks to be faster & cheaper than the 125 Mhz TNT2, and the V3 3500 is reported to have much better LCD support than the TNT2.

My only question is the ability of TSMC/STBI to handle the volume.
If I remember correctly, TDFX was unable to get/buy enough production
volume from TSMC for Banshee. Also, Banshee had 4-5 big card makers producing product. How many cards can STBI produce in a quarter?

As for the demand side, it looks like V3 will be a retail hit. CompUSA and Electronics Boutique both indicate high pre-order demand.

Hopefully, NVDA will try one last FUD push. That way I can pick up some more STBI at a discount before the V3 hits the retail shelves.
