New Web Site, Adds Service Offerings

Redesigned Web site improves customer
experience

HERNDON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 22, 1999-- Network Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ:NSOL
- news) today announced the launch of a new Web site that has been completely redesigned to help
customers more easily find the information, services and tools they need to establish and build an
Internet presence.

The new site makes it easier to register or reserve a Web address, sign up for our email service, or
make changes to an existing account. Network Solutions also unveiled new services to help small
businesses add value to their Web presence.

Customers going to either Network Solutions' previous home page or to the InterNIC site at
rs.internic.net will be seamlessly directed to a consolidated site at
networksolutions.com. The new consolidated registrar site is faster to download, easier to
read and offers descriptive words and phrases to better direct customers to key areas of the site, such
as Make Changes and Registration Payment Options. An all-new help system allows customers to
work with a separate help window.

''Our number one goal with this Web site launch is to improve the customer experience,'' said Doug
Wolford, Network Solutions' senior vice president, sales and marketing. ''We believe the changes
we've made will increase the number of new customers that come to us and return to us as a valuable
small business resource.''

Responding to customers' requests, the new Web site improves the process of registering and making
changes to Web addresses. Now all customers can follow an easy-to-use step through process with
helpful graphic symbols. The site allows for the registration of up to 10 domain names in a single
customer transaction. A new ''Make Changes'' section enables users to quickly find the information
needed to update their Web address information.

New Service Offerings

With this Web site launch, Network Solutions is also introducing the dot com biz card(TM) service and
the dot com forwarding(TM) service as part of its small business solutions.

dot com biz card(TM) Service

For thousands of small businesses who choose to reserve a Web address with Network Solutions
before they are ready to set up a Web site, dot com biz card offers an upgrade from the current default
''Under Construction'' page. Customers can now create a ''virtual business card'' through an
easy-to-use Web interface. The dot com biz card allows a small business to put its company
information and a logo on the Internet so people visiting their Web address will know how to contact
them. Ultimately, the dot com biz card will serve as the ''entry screen'' for Network Solutions'
upcoming dot com directory(TM) service.

dot com forwarding(TM) Service

Another value-added service for customers reserving a Web address, dot com forwarding(TM)
enables customers to forward or point one or more NSI hosted Web addresses (reserved through
RegistrationPlus) to another Web address. To broaden their online presence, customers can buy
multiple addresses and point them to a single site. For example, netsol.com,
thedotcompeople.com and theemailpeople.com, all point to
networksolutions.com.
