David N thanks for the info;

They won't give you the NTSC/PAL encoder delta, or
the fact that Cube is at .35 micron, or that TMSC (CUBE's foundry) guarantees
CUBE that they will beat any price Cube can find at any other foundry
.
It's a useless debate.

Do you think the downgrade is historical, looking back to the pre-CL680 days? The CL680 is
.35 micron and the older chip .5 micron. The sq. cm for the new chip would be 1/2 of the older chip ( if the # transistors is the same)
That is Moore's law. It won't stop for at least 10 years. The # of chips from a wafer whould be able to jump significantly even if you add a few transisters.
The downgrades would suggest that More's law has been broken. The downgrades are retrospective and do not consider the CL680. ESST has been quiet, while CUBE and the CL680 have a string
of wins. The evidence suggests that CUBE is retaking ground that it might have lost 2 mo. ago. Is this right David? With your help maybe we should call the next hand?

Even if I never retire early I will thank you for teaching me how to differentiate my posts from the others by the bold and italics I can now use.
I look forward to the day whan an analyst has less power than the insight of a CUBE thread. Gilder says that the power of a network is a polynomial expression n to the n-1 power. If true we know more than anyone esle.

Finally to Alas BCan't say. What have they done to you?
