I agree, the popularity of MP3.COM is insane (they had something rediculous like 10,000 hits on their web page the first day that content was available). It will be interesting to see if MP3.COM eventually comes around and tries to court ANY entity in the "Music Business," or, any of the large "Technology Providers." Nonetheless, it is very clear that MP3.com's strategy is to cruise solo.

Regarding NXTL, they clearly have a very ambitious growth strategy--and thus far it has panned out nicely.

I currently like Sigma Designs (yes,I own SIGM shares). I'm atttracted to Sigma's DVD product line (incredible growth and undisputed industry leader...Sony, Toshiba, Panasonic, Phillips, Dell etc all use Sigma's card)and Sigma's video streaming technology (real-time decoding of MPEG data).

I mentioned SNDK last night as a potential MP3 play...and sure enough this press release came out today:
