Comcast has effectively already decided to go with RR.
I think that is a bit of a leap in judgement. What do they get out of RR that they dont get out of @home? You imply more freedom from T for one but what about freedom from TWX? The relationships are too complex for my understanding so far. Dont they ultimately care about which service will provide them the most income? Or why not let ATHM & RR just both fight it out over the same wires at the same time? That would make the FCC ecstatic.
I wonder if your conviction that everyone is revolving thier business choices around the FCC is as true as you think. ATHM and RR have discussed a merger, why did they bother if they were so afraid of the FCC? Maybe they think the FCC can see that RR & ATHM dont provide any competition at the consumer level anyway and that the threat from DSL is real enough that (to take it to an extreme) a merger might even *enhance* competition by making the cable side stronger. Just because you think cable is the clear winner doesnt mean the FCC does. AOL and the RBOC's have put on a pretty good show, superior marketing will beat superior technology every time.

I want to inform anyone reading this that ATHM is going to gap open down say 20 points tomorrow
This is the "I dont make predictions" Ahhaha? Too many predictions like this and you lose credibility altogether. Of course its perfect for the role of thread bear 8-). Why the heck would it gap down now? The news was out before Monday open. The market thought the news was good, suddenly they are going to change their minds overnight?
Last comment: Even if the market does get rational and start evaluating stocks based on earnings there is always room for extra pricing based on the fact that the company is young and just launching upwards on the profit scale with great potential ahead. ATHM will still be in that position in 2 years (young & growing exponentially) *if* they execute properly.
