Nuke44,

I understand your feelings about showing force of will against Milosevic. But I'm sure that our policies will achieve the desired results. Albania was one of the most repressive pariah nations for decades. Kosovo has been stealthily "invaded" by ethnic Albanians for decades. The Serbs feel that we are trying to assist the KLA to secede and eventually join Albania proper.

So I can see why they are a bit upset. It would be nice if it were possible to block the borders properly, arm the Albanians comparably to the Serbians and let the best race win. (I know... too simplistic).

I don't believe we know where this path is going to take us and rather than intervening militarily, continuing to contain the region may be the best bet.

I'm sorry... I just am not sure there are any "good guys" worth spending our military might to support. The papers talk about "innocent Albanians"... but they'll spend little time discussing the innocent Serbian civilians who are bound to die as well. And we're wind be hated by one side, and exploited by the other for their own purposes.

Can we say "quagmire"??

Regards,

Ron
